Oops, got extremely sidetracked again. Finished up the quarter rather neatly, then proceeded to fly around the country rather haphazardly from Thanksgiving until about a week ago. I'd have hopes of doing oodles of (small) art before Christmas, but the boy is coming to visit on Saturday and staying right up until Xmas Eve. So!

I am a bad hat.

To be honest, I completely forgot I had one of these things, despite my constant claims that I'm going to keep it updated.

School is going really well this quarter. I'm procrastinating on a paper. I haven't had done much personal art even though I've had plenty of time to work on it. Finally in a figure drawing class, which turned out to be amaze. I'd post things from it, but it's more boring construction stuff and less cool rendered things.

Sometimes I get an overwhelming urge to try and design cities/landscapes. Which I suppose is good, but boy is it ever frustrating when I don't know what I'm doing.

Going...Berserk?

Oh goodness it's been a while. I've been super into FFX and Berserk lately (weird combination right?), and while I've been feeling marginally better about my creativity, I've been stuck in fanart mode. Which is perfectly fine, I guess.

Ohhh I'm so lazy.

Starting a drink-related series. Or so was my intent before starting. We'll see how many I actually do.

Y'know, I really should update this more, but I'm amazingly unmotivated by the fact that no one reads this. Ever. What can I say, I'm a feedback junkie.

I'm procrastinating something wicked right now. I really haven't had/made time for art for the majority of May, but I managed to carve out about 30 mins (which I shouldn't have) to fix up an old speed paint of my baby:

But after this next Tuesday, I'll be finished with finals and should be back to finishing commissions and trades and free things and all that.

Man, ever since I got those art books, I've been on this crazy art roll. It's AWESOME.

Though I suppose it also helps that this quarter has been pretty mild school-wise. And that I no longer have someone keeping tabs on me when I do stuff.

But I started losing it something heavy right in the middle of working on a commission. But then I learned that the art of starting over is a highly underrated thing. So I started over. Will share later. :9

April

So March apparently didn't happen as far as this blog is concerned. Hi, I'm good at keeping things up to date. April hasn't been terribly good as an art month either--too much personal stuff going on that I'm not used to. Hopefully May will be better as far as art is concerned~.

Finally finished this silly boy and lopped in some bg for good measure. Custom brushes are a life saver, but I really need to start doing more backgrounds. =/

I want to marry this man. ...Actually there are a number of men I would like to marry. Shame most of them are getting old. Little out of practice with this sort of thing (don't think I've done a proper one since the end of junior year in hs), so he's got some alignment problems and is a little stretchy, but I still kinda like it. It's better looking while lying on my bed at a distance, but what isn't.

I should do more pencil portraits too though--they're terribly relaxing, don't take too long, and have zero brain activity required. A good combo for me.

Also I was having terrible trouble trying to resize pictures in the "compose" tab until I realized that Chrome does not support such things for some reason. Guess Firefox gets to do more than let me watch Netflix for a while. =P

I've discovered recently that I'm actually just a cranky old man, and the only thing that makes me feel better is David Bowie with outrageous hair and obscenely tight pants. Only. Thing.
